Food production has been significantly transformed in recent decades by technologies based on digital solutions. With \"Agriculture 4.0\", it has become possible to operate food production pathways from \"farm to fork\" based on consumer demand, which significantly increases the efficiency of food production. Through the use of precision technologies, operators in the food supply chain can produce as much and as much product as consumer markets demand, making optimal use of environmental resources and minimising production risks.<\/span><\/p>

\"Agriculture 4.0\" is the umbrella term for the digital agricultural economy, or in a narrower sense, precision agriculture, information and communication technologies, decision support based on the collection and processing of large-scale data, and the technological and management reform resulting in the ever closer interconnection of automation and robotisation, as well as changes in production, farm management and business models of product trajectories.<\/p>

Recognizing the importance of digitalization in the food economy, the Hungarian Government adopted the Digital Agricultural Strategy of Hungary (DAS) in 2019.The DAS created a \"digital\" vision of the Hungarian agriculture and set up a strategy for the necessary development, focusing on the first stage of the food product pathway, agricultural production. The strategy is built around three pillars:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

  • digitising production, developing precision production,<\/span><\/li>
  • <\/o:p><\/span>improving farm decision-making based on digital technologies, and<\/span><\/li>
  • <\/o:p><\/span>to develop product pathways with digital solutions.<\/span><\/li><\/ul>

    The combined development of the three pillars can ensure, through data linking the pillars, that agricultural production can efficiently produce the raw materials that the food industry and ultimately consumers expect.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>

    The aim of Hungary's Digital Agricultural Strategy is to contribute to increasing the profitability of agricultural production by collecting and processing information, automating and robotising technological operations, while making efficient use of available environmental resources.<\/p>

    The creation of a data environment for the development and operation of the three pillars identified in the DAS, the so-called \"agricultural data space\", was adopted by the Government in the sectoral chapter of the Artificial Intelligence Strategy. The agricultural data space corresponds to the national level of the \"agricultural data space\" of the European Union Data Strategy.<\/p>

    The Government has allocated funding for the implementation of DAS in 2020. Of the projects launched, the Neumann Technology Platform is involved in the management and implementation of the Digital Agricultural Academy, which aims to raise awareness among farmers, and the Digital Produce Market, which will provide the digital \"utility\" needed to operate a short supply chain to support farmers' incomes.<\/p>

    In 2022, the Government adopted the Digital Food Strategy (D\u00c9S), prepared under the coordination of DJN Ltd, based on the DAS Government Decision. The D\u00c9S has a set of objectives and interventions linked to the DAS, thus ensuring the full digitalisation of the food supply chain from the ground to the table, and the possibility of data flow.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

    The Neumann Technology Platform supports the implementation of DAS and D\u00c9S through its digital technology expertise and the cooperation of the professional coalitions established by its predecessors, and is directly involved in the implementation of projects. The Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, 5G and Drone coalitions have directly contributed to the creation and implementation of the strategies. The 5G and Drone Coalition is primarily related to the DAS domain, while the Blockchain Coalition supports the entire product pipelines by providing traceability and data flows to prove the quality of food.<\/p>
